PewDiePie, the former king of YouTube, just released a product he calls Odysseus. Posted on GitHub completely open-sourced, it's a self-hosted AI agent that learns from you. The whole point of it is to self-host your own AI. It allows you to chat with your own AI, assist you in reading and writing E-Mails, and can even help you complete deep research. It allows you to use any model you want, whether that's one from Google, OpenAI, Claude, etc.

Why should I host my own AI when I can have companies do it for me?

As people, we're too trusting. We trust people when they say they'll keep a pinky promise. We trust companies when they say they're not going to do anything wrong. What happens when they go against what they said? Well, you feel hurt in the end. You couldn't trust them. When you self-host your own AI, you're keeping your data. There is no data being transferred to people you can't trust. It's yours, not theirs.

What are your opinions?

I, personally, will not be using this. I don't think that us humans need to rely on Artificial Intelligence. All of us are capable of doing anything. There shouldn't be something all-powerful that we hand our workflows to. It takes away the human-ness of our every day lives.

There is something beautiful in being fundamentally flawed.
